Living on the streets is hard enough, so when Copper Daniels’ mama drags them from their cemetery home in the middle of the night, the eleven-year-old knows they’re in big trouble. After reading Pennies, I was itching to continue Copper's story. This novella was amazing and reads like a novel instead of a short story. Cannot wait to continue on throughout Copper's journey!
I started with pennies from burger heaven and then went looking for more! This is a prequel to pennies and holds up well as a stand-alone story even so! I whole heartedly recommend this book and this author to anyone.
Really great story! A prequel to "Pennies from Burger Heaven" it really gives great insight into the relationship between Copper and her mother. This story is engaging, fast paced and funny. The author really brings all the characters to life so you feel like you are on this adventure with them. Really great read!!!
Marcy McKay is a great author. I really enjoyed this book and Pennis from burger heaven. In fact, these two books touched me and stayed with me long after I finished reading them.
This was a fantastic prequel to Pennies from Burger Heaven. I really wanted to know more about Copper’s mother and their relationship after reading Pennies, and this book filled in those gaps. It is a quick, entertaining read. Enjoy!
Wonderful prequel to Pennies from Burger Heaven. I can never get enough of Copper as a protagonist. And this insider's peek gives insight into "Mama" on a deeper level, helping the reader sympathize with some of her choices from the original novel. Looking forward to book 2 in the series!
It's an easy decision to follow young Copper from one story to the next! Unique concept, unique characters and a story that's sad because it could be true, but very life affirming as well. Keep going Copper, I can't wait to follow!
